July

July is always a super fun month.

Of course, It kicks off with the fourth of July, which is the busiest day of the year at our coffee shop. Ericka, Daddy, Mama and I rushed around like chickens with our heads cut off! What a total blast.

All cousins!

Our Uncle Eric and Aunt Meriwyn and their eight children visited family in Oregon for most of the month of July. It was such a pleasure to have them!

Leah and Ruth, so cute and fun!

I managed a meal at Camp Dwight this year. We served about 850 people a pancake and scrambled egg breakfast. Telling people what to do is just my thing so I was in my element!

And it's always fun to boss Daddy around. ;-)

These guys prepared 850 fork and napkin rolls!

My "I got up at 4:45" look!

These awesome people had the fun job of preparing the pancake mix.

With Drills! Blessings on whoever came up with that idea!

Mama dropped 'em...

Daddy flipped 'em, and Emma buttered!

After camp, we had a blast with our cousins from California. Love these guys!

They don't make very many young men like this nowadays!

We have a tradition of going to the blueberry patch together and man, it's a good one!

Our dear friends from Camiri, Bolivia (well, they're originally from the US but they've lived in Bolivia more than they've lived here) came and visited us. What a pleasure it was to host them and to catch up on all the news from Camiri!

My little brothers love watching Uncle Mark play the trombone!

Myles and I got to go backpacking for the first time this summer, and the preparation was the hardest part! But it was also fun to go over it and make sure we had everything. More on our trip later!

And more visitors from Bolivia! Larry and Linda Depue are missionaries in a very rural area of Bolivia. They have just completed a translation of the scriptures into GuaranĂ, one of the indigenous languages of Bolivia. It was thrilling to hold a copy of the long awaited (and much labored over!) translation of God's word.

Of course they had to experience our coffee shop, so we gave them the royal treatment on our way to church!

I think that about rounds up the month of July! Lots of visitors, lots of fun with friends, and lots of events.

Love to all,

Emily Jo

Promise! Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:3-5
