Looking Unto Jesus

We humans spend around 60-70% of our time using our incredible eyesight. We use it to find our clothes when we get out of bed in the morning, to make breakfast, to read our Bibles, books, and emails without even thinking twice. I just killed a spider on my desk and I couldn't have done it without seeing where the spider was!!! The pleasure of seeing its guts on a piece of paper....... But there's another kind of vision. And no, I'm not talking about dreams or trances or anything like that; I'm talking about spiritual vision. And this week I've been thinking about it a lot.  I think that this thought revolves around these verses:  Hebrews 12:1,2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us....... Ok, stop right there. So that we can run the race with patience, we need to lay aside each

The Long Journey Home

We had a rather long trip home. First we flew out of Portland and landed in Houston where we were picked up by a friend of ours, Melanie. She took us to a super yummy taco shop....they sure know how to make great Mexican food there! Then we went to her apartment and got a good night's rest.  We got to the Houston airport early in the morning where poor Myles had to drag some of our extremely heavy bags around until we found the right terminal (due to his sister being a tightwad and not wanting to pay the 5bucks to rent a cart! But after already having paid $5 the night before and the machine not letting me take the cart out, who could blame me?)The terminal we wanted ended up being the one that we started at!!!! Now do you want to travel with me? Oh yes.   We had a long night ahead of us in Santa Cruz.  Our friends, the Mattix's were in Santa Cruz, so they met us at the airport and brought us some yummy snacks and visited until around 12am. I took the first sleepin

USA Trip Part 3

I did not take as many pictures while we were in the valley..I really wish I had!  The first day we were there we went to my very favorite ocean park: Shore Acres. There are beautiful gardens and a secluded beach area.  I love the Oregon Coast!! Gorgeous!  These are just the roots of a giant tree that fell down!  Myles thought he had arrived in tree climbing heaven!  Me, Myles, Grandma and Grandpa B. in the garden!  I love this one of Grandpa B! Grandma B. and me We went bowling with some friends one evening. Unfortunately the folks at the bowling alley could not figure out how to work my camera so the pictures turned out blurry!  Here are some shots from an early morning hike!  After our hike we celebrated my cousin Landon's birthday! He loved the rescue toys I gave him....removal of batteries was probably necessary for the sanity of the parents though! My friend Lauren and I went out for the day and "

When I see that my blog views are going down to about 6 per day (as opposed to 30-70) I know that it is time to post again! But i've been so busy and so tired that I just haven't had the energy to do practically anything! So here you are with the exciting part 2 of our wonderful USA trip! The Sunday following our game night at Uncle Wade and Aunt Jocelyn's house we went to see my cousin Randi try out for the Sisters rodeo queen! She did a wonderful job and came in first runner up! Cousin Kendrick all dressed up as a cowboy; pistol and all!  Here she is giving her Speech Randi Leigh led Claire, Kendrick, and Elizabeth around on her horse! Myles got to ride as well!  Monday morning Myles made us a delicious breakfast of blueberry muffins, fruit salad and pancakes!  We had a super fun evening with our Uncle Derrick and Aunt Naomi on Tuesday! I love their children, they are so fun to be with! Myles played some sort of game wit
